In this report, we share an overview of the donations Bee’s Food Drive received from December 2021 to December 2022.
2022 Donations
100% of the monetary donations that was received and meant for the purchase of food went towards the buying and distribution of the food we bought.
In addition to the ₦616,000 (£680/$800) used for food purchases in 2022, ₦12,500 (£14/$16) was contributed towards the cost of repairing the outreach’s supervisor’s phone. This was because the outreach’s supervisor’s phone broke whilst he was out on the outreach.
Furthermore, what has not been accounted for is the monthly payment given to the outreach supervisor to help towards his transportation costs to and from the venue and data subscription to provide updates regarding the outreach.
The outreach supervisor was paid ₦10,000 per month from December 2021 to October 2022. From November 2022, his salary was increased to ₦15,000 per month. This meant that a total of ₦140,000 (£155/$182) was paid as salary ie ₦10,000 per month for 11 months from December 2021 to October 2022 plus ₦15,000 per month for November and December 2022. This salary was paid for by Ms Alao directly, founder of Bee’s Food Drive.
Thus, from December 2021 to December 2022, the gross amount Ms Alao and her friends contributed towards running Bee’s Food Drive from their personal money was ₦768,500 (£850/$1000).
Please note that the exchange rates is as at 14.03.2023 using the black market exchange rate. It is almost impossible to get access to the government official exchange rate in Nigeria.
